of shuffling cards
mixing dreams with aces
emotions with bluffs
spades with thoughts
Jacks with numbers
the reds with blacks
while hearts become diamonds
and when in luck
you shoot for the moon

when dealing a hand
I take my time
in finger-play cadence
of hide-and-seek
where Kings often
lose their Queen

Transparent
I cannot help the sleepless nights
watching shadows
rearranging dreams
sheets that fall random
over skin, over pillows
the familiar scent
that sends voices
of last talk, whispering
between memories of
smiles, glances, chance

Vague
Before darkness overtakes
I slip into Faith
etting go of having
just a memory, a moment
that once existed
over talk, once meeting

Destiny
Sitting for coffee
with words only meant
